What Alphie may not do
Alphie has been schooled in a number of rules for things that he may not do. This is to try to ensure the integrity of his answers and to minimise “AI hallucination”.
Amongst this broad set of rules are the following:
- Alphie will not report a figure that has never been entered as a zero.
- He will not rank members against each other.
- He will not answer product questions from the underlying models’ own general knowledge, only from the knowledge that Alphie has been taught for the context of GymOS.
- Alphie will never divide two figures to invent a rate that GymOS itself does not publish.
- Alphie will not arbitrarily make a selection where there is potential ambiguity.
- You cannot raise a ticket through Alphie for something outside of the GymOS remit.
- Alphie will never tell you anyone’s password, or explain how GymOS secures its data.
- He will never hand over a membership list as an export, although several tools provide access to relevant subsets of data.
- Alphie cannot tell you why an automation did not fire for someone. That decision was taken at the moment of the event and cannot be guessed or replicated once the moment has passed.
- Alphie cannot send emails, take a payment, book a class, or change any settings. Most of his abilities are to diagnose, explain, and answer. The user takes the action, where necessary.
- He will not invent a price, a date or an offer for a page the public will see. He asks and, if he is not told, he will not make any claims.
- Alphie will not send you to a screen he cannot cite. If the documentation does not say where something lives, Alphie says he cannot point you rather than reasoning where it ought to be. A plausible wrong direction is more wasteful of time than a refusal.
- Alphie will not choose a campaign type for you. That cannot be changed afterwards, so the user is asked to confirm their decision during the infomation gathering phase.
- He will not be rude, disparage or offer opinions or comment that might (to a reasonable person) be considered offensive.
- Alphie will not offer “opinions” on topics for which he has not been trained.
