Understanding sessions & schedules
Sessions may be scheduled or created on an ad hoc basis.
Whilst relatively straightforward, several core principles are helpful to understand regarding sessions and their scheduling.
- When a new session schedule is created, the first set of sessions is added to the schedule immediately. After that, sessions are created on a rolling, nightly basis. This is a background process within GymOS.
- Once a session has been scheduled and it appears within the schedule in the administration portal, it is orphaned from its originating schedule. It may therefore be individually edited without concern for affecting any other sessions.
- With a couple of exceptions, making a change to a session schedule does not change sessions that have already been scheduled.
- GymOS schedules sessions, visible within the schedule, according to the Days of sessions to timetable setting in the Settings area of GymOS.
Note: The recommended period to schedule is the same duration for which you issue credits (I.e., 28 days). We do not recommend scheduling sessions a long time in advance, as this may cause you headaches when you come to adjust your schedule. - The number of days in advance that a member can see a session in their app or the FitnessHub member portal is determined by the Days of sessions to show members option within the Settings area of GymOS.
- If you configure Autobookings for a member, these are processed at the moment that a session is scheduled. This ensures that members set to auto-book are always prioritised for a session.
