Alphie’s skills & knowledge

Alphie has four different types of skill and knowledge:

  1. GymOS product knowledge.
  2. General premium gym operation industry knowledge.
  3. Skills to access and explore data within your GymOS system, to diagnose, investigate and explain.
  4. Tools to undertake controlled tasks within your GymOS system.

All of these are updated and enhanced periodically, ensuring that Alphie’s skills continue to evolve and always stay up to date.

For such a powerful tool, it is impossible to provide a list of all of the literally thousands of different types of question that Alphie is able to answer. Instead, each type of skill is summarised at high level below, each with a corresponding link where further information and example questions may be found. Where applicable, deliberate limitations or restrictions for a given tool/skill are outlined.

GymOS product knowledge

EVERYONE

Alphie has been trained in the correct operation and usage of the GymOS system, and this knowledge is refreshed on a nightly basis so that it is always up-to-date with the current version of GymOS.

The primary source of his product expertise is this knowledge base. Unlike the “word matching search” employed in the knowledge base site itself, Alphie’s version of the knowledge base is held in a powerful AI-enabled repository. This means that Alphie is much more capable of finding the answer, summarising the answer to meet the context of your question, and providing clickable citation links back to the full knowledge base article(s).

Premium gym operation industry knowledge

EVERYONE

The “Mind the Churn – The operational playbook for premium small-group personal training” book, written by Quoox founder & CEO Chris Windram has used to provide Alphie extensive industry background knowledge, and best practice information on the operation of a successful training gym in the UK and Ireland.

This information, being of known provenance, is considered trusted and factually correct. Alphie is deliberately constrained from searching the broader Internet, where incorrect or problematic content might be surfaced and taint the quality of his answers.

By the time that Alphie launches in late September 2026, every GymOS client should have received a complimentary copy of the Mind the Churn book and thus have it available to reference the pages and passages that Alphie cites.

GymOS specific skills and tools

It is these specific skills & tools that elevate Alphie as the AI assistant for GymOS, rather than just a generic AI GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer). These tools are added to and extended on a periodic basis. Each tool fits into a broad category as highlighted below. Clicking on a given category will take you through to more details and examples of the type of question that the tool will answer.

Note: This list and the examples given are non-exhaustive. Due to the nature of AI and the extensive skills Alphie has been provided, we know that Alphie is capable of answering things that we haven’t even directly trained him on. Don’t worry – he’s not become sentient or started self-learning, but he has the ability to link knowledge pools that we might find harder to do as humans! The basic rules still apply across everything he says or does.

Don’t be fooled by the high-level descriptions. Each of these skills and tools encompasses a wide range of capabilities, with “Business figures, KPIs & metrics, patterns and alerts” alone able to answer hundreds of different questions!
