Categorisation tags

Categorisation tags are available on both the member and lead summary tabs. They are a great way to mark a record with an ad hoc tag, which you can then use to group and/or categorise members.

Tags are created on the fly, meaning they do not need to be predefined. Member tags are a separate set of tags from lead tags; however, once a tag has been assigned to one member or lead, it can also be assigned to other members or leads.

Adding a tag

To add a tag to a member or lead record, type the tag into the Categorisation tags box. If you are adding an existing tag, select it from the drop-down list that appears when the tag name is listed. If it is a new tag, type the tag name and press the tab or enter key at the end. This will add the tag to the record immediately. There is no need to press a “save” (or similar) button.

Removing a tag

To remove a tag from a member or lead record, click on the icon next to the tag that you wish to remove. The tag is removed from that record immediately.

Dynamic group propagation

If you are using a tag in a dynamic member or lead group, be aware that it may take a few minutes for your list to update and regenerate.

You can shortcut this process by clicking the resync icon alongside the dynamic group.

Level-up Tip

Tags are beneficial when used as part of dynamic groups. These groups can then be utilised in various applications, such as mailouts or triggers, to determine the correct target audience.
